A modern problem

In these sophisticated times, how does an elegant gentleman respond to the following situation?
When running for one’s bus and one’s shoes slide and one finds oneself flying towards the ground, only for a bus shelter to get in the way reducing your velocity due to the friction between your face and the glass but causing a ricochet casually onto the pavement, is there a correct procedure for maintaining one’s dignity?
Cos i bloody didn’t.

No, but my left cheekbone is somewhat more prominent than it was.
Dear Delishus
Sadly, there are some occasions when one’s dignity will always be compromised. Head-butting bus shelters will always be undignified, no matter what the circumstances. Most people attempt this after drinking, but as you were (presumably) sober at the time I suggest you now drink to forget.
Cheek cheek! (Instead of chin chin!)
Aye, it would be a bit of a stretch to claim that that’s what you’d intended to do all along.
I thought about trying to go into a forward roll and end on one knee, giving it the full big-star-jazz-hands finale thing but I’d never have gotten away with it. Not even in Chorlton
